Turf Conversion
Turf grass is one of the most water-intensive plants in the average landscape. Its high water needs can be a costly venture. Avoid watering unnecessary areas of turf and wasting valuable resources by replacing thirsty turf grass with plants that require less water and maintenance. Turf conversion is ideal for water conservation during dry periods where water restrictions are in place. By converting a turf area, you will likely see savings in labor (less turf management), and a reduction of chemical and fertilizer applications.
Irrigation reductions:
(Calculations based on 10 minute run times for an average of 250 days per year)
Converted 9 full circle heads (43 gal/min) to part circle heads (29.4 gal/min) for a savings of 304,000 gallons of water per year.
All greens’ heads’ nozzles were reduced from various sizes to smaller sizes for a savings of 2.26 million gallons of water per year.
